AI Cryptocurrency Trading Bots

I have to admit the biggest reason I got into AI was to print money. So I was downloading horse race stats, football stats, baseball stats, all sort of stats to play around with. But I was just messing around. I had no clue what I was doing and had never gambled or traded in my life.

Then my manager found out I was interested in AI, handed me a book on it, and said, “Get up to speed. Your next project is going to involve fraud detection.” About the same time, I ran into a stock market contest that was announced on Reddit. I knew enough about AI to know I could use similar models for both. So the contest would be where I would practice.

I entered three times, finished 8th, 4th, and 3rd and won both cash and crypto each time. I was hooked. That was in 2017 and I have yet to actually purchase any cryptocurrency with fiat currency, unless something like going from BTC to USDT and back counts. I’ve just traded on what I won 7 years ago. I even built my own cryptocurrency trading bot.

But it was an experiment. I did test it out a few times and had a little success. Here are some the AI cryptocurrency trading bots I’m looking into now. This list will grow as I check them out, so visit often.

Cryptohopper Backtesting and Simulated Trades (Paper Trading)

Cryptohopper understands that dumping your money into an automated trading bot can be a scary proposition. That’s why they built in features to ease your trading anxiety.

Backtesting is one the secret weapons they give you. It allows you to rewind time and test your trading strategies against historical market data. It will show you how your bots would have performed in past bull and bear markets and allow you to tweak the results until you’re ready to trade for real.

But you don’t even have to start trading for real. The paper trading feature let’s you practice on the real cryptocurrency market with play money. Here you can experiment even more, build your skills, and gain confidence before you commit some real capital.

But if you’re still no ready, you can enter a paper trading tournment and see how your bot stacks up against other trader’s bot in a risk-free environment.

There are even paper trading tournaments, so you can put your skills to the test in a competitive environment, but still not risk any assets. And when you are ready, you can use your bot to trade real money. Or use one of the battle-tested community bots. Read on to find out how…

Find the Best Strategies in the Cryptohopper Marketplace

And more actually. The marketplace can be a little overwhelming. Templates, strategies, signals, and copy bots. How do you make sense of these? I will cover each in the upcoming section.

Cryptohopper Marketplace

Cryptohopper Copy Bots (Social Trading)

Want to make money from crypto trading without lifting a finger? You can do just that with copy bots.

How do copy bots work?. With copy bots, you rent out successful trading bots created by other users. These bots have proven track records, and you can leverage their expertise to profit from the market, even if you’re new to trading.

Cryptohopper Copy Bots

Here you can browse through the available copy bots and the default “Highest profit” sort order puts the best ones on top. Here is what this view will tell you about them:

  • The star rating of each bot
  • Profit: the percentage up
  • The exchange the bot uses
  • Quote currency: the base currency. Most are USDT and USD.
  • Price: The amount the bot will cost you to use per month.

To get more details on each social trading bot, you can click on any bot to see how the bot performed since it was created, read reviews, and even use the calculator to figure out how much money you could make using the trading bot.

Cryptohopper Templates: What Are They?

To get a little more involved in your trading, you might want to consider using Cryptohopper templates. While copy bots offer a hands-off approach, templates give you more control over your trading strategy. Most of the templates in the marketplace are 100% free.

You can think of a template as a blueprint for your trading bot. They provide a pre-configured structure with settings like exchange, trading pair, and basic trading rules. This can be a good place to start, especially if you’re new to bot creation. Then you can customize your template with your own strategies and signals or get those from the marketplace also.

Cryptohopper Strategies

Once you have a template, it’s time to add some brains.

Think of strategies as the rules that govern your bot’s trading decisions. They define when to buy, when to sell, and how to manage risk. You can create your own strategies or use pre-built ones from the Cryptohopper marketplace. You pay for a strategy once and can use it forever and some highly rated strategies are free.

The important parts of a strategy include:

  • Entry conditions: When should your bot should enter a trade? Examples include technical indicators, price patterns, or time-based triggers.
  • Exit conditions: When should your bot should exit a trade? This might be based on profit targets, stop-loss orders, or trailing stop-loss.
  • Risk management: How will you protect your capital? Examples include stop-loss orders and position sizing.

Cryptohopper Signals

Think of signals as the whispers from the market. They provide real-time alerts and notifications that can help you identify potential trading opportunities.

Signals often serve as inputs for trading strategies. For example, a strategy might be triggered when a technical indicator reaches a certain level, or when a news event occurs. Signals can provide valuable information that can help your bot make better trading decisions.

Cryptohopper offers a variety of signals to choose from, including:

  • Technical analysis signals: These signals are based on technical indicators like moving averages, RSI, and MACD.
  • Fundamental analysis signals: These signals are based on news and events that can impact the market.
  • Social sentiment signals: These signals analyze social media sentiment to gauge market sentiment.

Signals from the Cryptohopper marketplace are a one time purchase and some good ones are even free.

Cryptohopper Automated DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging)

Dollar cost averaging is a technique to recouping your losses when your crypto investment is going down. It is based on the assumption that it will eventually come back up. It involves investing the same amount of money on a regular basis, like a 401K works.

Here’s an example of how it will help you recoup your losses when the market is going down:

You invest $1000 in a cryptocurrency each month for 6 months, even if you could invest all $6000 right now. Here is how the price of the coin you invested in at the end of each month:

MonthPrice
1$100
2$90
3$80
4$70
5$80
6$90

If you had spent the whole $6000 in the first month and sold in the last month, you would have lost money, since you bought at $100 and sold at $90. But if you spent $1000 each month, the average price you paid would have been $85, lower than the final price and would have made a profit.

With Cryptohopper, you can add DCA to your trading strategies. Here are the basics:

  • DCA after X time open: How often you want to create a DCA order
  • DCA set percentage trigger: The percentage the price must fall to make the order
  • DCA buy immediately: Setting this will trigger an immediate purchase when the percentage loss threshold is hit.
  • DCA order size: You can double down, triple down, or set a custom percentage for your buy.
